Andries Boone T.I.M.E.L.A.P.S.E

TIMELAPSE was created during the second Covid lockdown in 2020. Each track on the album corresponds to a specific moment in time, is connected to an emotion and reflects a cinematic mood and state of mind.
Accordina, mandolin, and piano form the album's foundational sound. Electric bass and horn color all the tracks. A crossover sound that balances between minimalist piano music and jazzy film scores, but always inspired by Baroque music and traditional folk music, particularly Caucasian ethnic music. The accordina plays a significant role in this imaginary soundtrack. The accordina is a wind instrument from the 1930s. It sounds a bit like the chromatic harmonica and is also mouth-blown, but it is played with buttons like a button accordion. The instrument is almost extinct.
Artwork and layout were created by Lot Vandekeybus. At Andries Boone's request, she painted a portrait of the musician, referencing the album's theme of time.
