Lot Vandekeybus is a Belgian illustrator. She has created illustrations for children's books, posters, record covers, and theater sets. Besides her personal work, she also designs on request for anything imaginable. She travels between Belgium and Venice, where she has found her second home on one of the islands in the lagoon.

Vandekeybus studied at the University of Leuven, specializing in literature and performing arts. Vandekeybus is largely self-taught in illustration, although she occasionally takes classes at art schools and workshops. After two years of evening classes in figure drawing at the Academy of Antwerp, she began studying Illustration at the Academy of Berchem (Antwerp).

There, thanks to illustrator Vera Bohnen, she learns to experiment with all sorts of techniques and forms, playing with materials, ideas, and compositions. Combined with a long-standing passion for illustrating theater posters and children's books, she immediately feels at home. She completes the program in 2023 after two additional years of specialization.

In her work, she enjoys being challenged. She loves to experiment with different techniques and embraces the freedom this way of working gives her. She prefers to work without a computer for as long as possible, tinkering, searching, and scratching, because this way of working offers her the most surprise. She is a fan of texture and contrast, colour, humor, playfulness and movement. Ever curious, she draws inspiration from the capriciousness of nature, unexpected compositions in everyday life, painting and illustration of all kinds. She sees a new project and/or collaboration as an opportunity to discover something new.
